Without specialized supports, more than half of children who experience parental incarceration may one day go to prison themselves. Similar generational challenges with housing exist for children from homeless families. EFry’s JustKids initiative brings together programs and services specifically created to meet these children’s unique needs, to help put them on a path to a future where the sky’s the limit.

Storybook Literacy Program

The Storybook Program promotes both literacy and parent-child bonding. Incarcerated parents select a new book for their child and are recorded reading to them. The book and recording are then delivered to the child, so they can share a story with their parent anytime.

Bright Skies Day Camp

EFry’s day camp offers kids aged 6 to 15 the opportunity to make friends and experience summer fun, supported by trauma-informed camp counsellors.

McNeil Academy

Our alternative school provides high school education for at-risk girls in grades 9-12, through a specialized program which builds resiliency and life skills.
